PreK Screenings, Teeth

What if you Had Animal Teeth?!  That was the book we read today.  It is a silly book about losing your teeth and instead of people teeth growing in animal teeth grew in instead!  We also enjoyed the warm weather and had an extra long playground time.  Good thing we did, it is COLD now!! The children decided to use the giant outside blocks to build towers around themselves!  So much great critical thinking skills were being used on the playground this morning!

  

Teeth - PreK Screenings

We read the book Tooth Trouble today.  We talked about taking care of our teeth and how important it is to brush our teeth!  I was very happy to see that most of the children said they brush their teeth at least 2 times a day!  We also continued with our screening and we are loving this weather!  The pictures are from the playground yesterday afternoon.

Teeth - Grocery Store - Preschool Screenings

February is Dental Health Month.  We will be talking about our teeth this week, and we will be working on screening the children.  I will be getting progress reports out to you by the end of the month.  Today was also the first day of our Grocery Store Dramatic Play Area!  The grocery store will be up for 2 weeks, and we will end it with a Field Trip on February 28th to Hyvee!  Watch for Permission Slips and I will be looking for drivers to help :o)  Thank You So Much to Miss Wendy for helping out this morning so I could go to my follow up appointment with my surgeon!

Valentine Party

Thank You to everyone that joined us for our party and brought in all of the goodies!  They had so much fun!!
REMINDER: No School on Monday!

Valentine Fun!

We had a fun day!  We made chocolate play dough.  It smelled really good, and we had to keep reminding them that you couldn't eat it!  They had fun rolling it out and making Valentine Chocolates!  They made sticky heart art, and more Valentine's.  Yes, there is glitter all over the place again!  I will be fighting glitter for a month!  We also wrote in our journals.

Valentine Fun

We made Valentine's today!  There was glitter all over the place!!  I put Miss Brittany on Glitter Control!  You know how I feel about glitter!  The Valentine's are beautiful though.  We also did an estimation game.  The children had to estimate how many conversation hearts would fit inside of a heart.  We then glued conversation hearts in the heart and counted how many actually fit.  We then talked about if our estimate was too high or too low.

Will you be my Valentine?

Our song this week is simple and the kids love it.  We pat or clap along as we sing... Do you know my Valentine, my Valentine, my Valentine.  Do you know my Valentine his/her name is ______________.  Miss Coli from the Camdenton Library made her monthly visit today.  She read some Valentine Books and left the children a coloring page.  Some of them colored them here, and the rest took them home to color at home.  We worked on our Mom and Dad Valentine Presents today :o)
REMINDER: Valentine Party on Friday!  Bring in Valentines and make a container with your child to hold their Valentines.
